BNP leader Ishraque Hossain has intensified his stance against three advisers in the interim government, demanding their immediate resignation to ensure political neutrality ahead of national elections.

In a statement posted on his verified Facebook page Saturday evening, Ishraque declared: “Three non-neutral and dangerous advisors must resign immediately or sign a bond pledging not to contest the next election. This is non-negotiable. The National Security Adviser must also be questioned thoroughly to uncover any possible threat to our beloved motherland, Bangladesh.”

The three officials in question are National Security Adviser Khalilur Rahman, Local Government and Rural Development Adviser Asif Mahmud Shojib Bhuyain, and Information Adviser Mahfuj Alam.

This public statement comes shortly after the BNP formally called for the resignation of these same advisers during a high-level meeting with Chief Adviser Muhammad Yunus on Thursday. The party has accused the trio of compromising the neutrality of the interim setup.

Ishraque has previously voiced concern over the roles of Asif Mahmud and Mahfuj Alam, asserting that their removal is essential to establish public confidence in the government's impartiality during the transition period.

The BNP has consistently maintained that reforming the advisory body is a prerequisite for holding a credible and inclusive election.
